Gio Ponti’s genius is a constant inspiration within Palazzo Luce, both due to the presence of numerous precious historical design pieces, carefully selected and collected by Anna Maria Enselmi, and to the projects that pay tribute to Ponti by incorporating his color schemes, combinations of shapes, and geometric lines.

For Bar Ponti Cielo, a panoramic lounge on the terrace of the Palazzo and perfect for enjoying a sunset aperitif, Giuliano Andrea dell’Uva drew upon Ponti’s Mediterranean soul and, in particular, his Hotel Parco dei Principi project in Sorrento, revisiting his passion for ceramics.

Produced by the same ceramics manufacturer used by Ponti, the glazed white and black ‘De Maio’ pebbles cover the surfaces of the Bar in a brilliant graphic pattern which starts with the detail to conjure the mediterranean identity and then evokes the essential elegance of Ponti’s designs.

The simplicity of the custom made furnishings, specially created by Studio Dell’Uva for Palazzo Luce, enhances the design created by the pebbles, tracing a common thread between the outdoor spaces and the interior of the Palazzo, with the same materials being used for the fireplace in the Breakfast Room.
